How much does it cost to list my boat on CharterXO?
Listing is free to start. After your boat completes two successful rentals, a flat $399/month per boat subscription begins. A 5% platform fee covers payment processing, ID verification, e-signature collection, and admin. Unlike other platforms, CharterXO does not charge a per-booking commission, giving you more predictable revenue that you keep!
How do booking requests work on CharterXO?
Customers must submit a booking request, which you can approve, decline, or modify via your owner dashboard. You’ll receive real-time alerts for new requests. No booking is confirmed until you explicitly approve it and the customer completes payment.
Are there any hidden fees?
Nope. CharterXO uses a transparent subscription model for boat owners, so customers don’t get hit with surprise fees. You’ll see a clear breakdown of the price, add-ons, and taxes before you pay. Because of this, you can keep sending your customer’s back to the platform, let us handle the complexities of the transaction and you simply see your business grow!
Can I offer extras like jet skis or other water toys?
Yes. You can offer add-ons (e.g., jet skis, paddleboards, snorkeling gear) at a flat hourly rate. These are selectable during the customer’s booking process and fully configurable in your listing.
Do I need to assign a captain for each trip?
Yes — all rentals on CharterXO are captained-only, ensuring safety and professionalism. You can assign your own captain, choose from your approved list, or invite new ones to join the platform.
Captains accept or decline trips directly through the app and must respond within 48 hours, or the system will prompt you to reassign. This structure ensures that trips are always staffed and expectations are clear.
How and when do I get paid?
Payments are processed securely via Stripe. Once a trip is completed, funds are transferred to your bank account. You can track all transactions — including customer payments, subscriptions, and refunds — through your owner dashboard.
You’ll also get detailed revenue breakdowns per boat and per trip, so managing cash flow and performance becomes effortless.
What is the ELEVATE rewards program?
ELEVATE is our lifetime rewards system that helps owners reduce their monthly subscription costs as well as other tier benefits. You earn points for every customer or captain you refer:
10 points for a customer’s first rental
2 points for every rental they make after
5 points per referred captain who completes a trip
As you accumulate points, you unlock Silver (10% off), Gold (20% off), and Diamond (30% off) tiers. Since referrals are tied to your account forever, the savings compound as you grow your network.
How does CharterXO handle waivers and safety compliance?
Every customer is requested to sign a digital waiver via Zoho Sign before their trip is confirmed. These documents are auto-generated, stored securely, and visible to both you and the captain. This is optional based on your preference. If you have your own documentation you would like to use, you can have the customer sign rental agreements and waivers through other means or in person when they arrive for their voyage.
Captains complete post-trip condition reports, including any damage or incidents. This provides a reliable system of checks and accountability, protecting all parties and reducing the chance of disputes.
What happens if something goes wrong during a trip?
If there’s an issue — such as property damage or a customer dispute — our support team steps in immediately. Captains submit a post-voyage condition report, and our system logs chat history, signed waivers, and payment records to ensure transparency.
CharterXO also collects a security deposit from the customer 48 hours before the trip. As long as a claim is filed with our support team within 48 hours after the trip ends, we will review the evidence and reach a resolution quickly.
This process gives owners peace of mind and ensures fair, accountable outcomes for everyone involved.
