Charters canceled by the captain (weather, mechanical, or other captain-initiated reason) receive a 100% refund or a free reschedule. Charterer-initiated cancellations follow the tiered policy above. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5-10 business days. Any platform-service charges that applied to your booking may be non-refundable in certain cases — check your booking details.
The fastest path is in-app chat (24/7 response, typically under 15 minutes during business hours). You can also email hello@charterxo.com or call +1-305-897-0279 during Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Eastern. For active-charter emergencies, captains contact USCG on VHF Ch 16 first, then CharterXO support.
The captain monitors conditions and decides go/no-go. If the captain cancels for weather, you receive a full refund or free reschedule at no cost. If conditions are marginal, the captain may propose a shortened or modified route — your call whether to accept. CharterXO won't penalize you for declining a marginal-weather modification.
Contact CharterXO support via in-app chat immediately. We'll reach the captain directly. If the captain is delayed beyond 30 minutes without communication, you're entitled to a full refund or an emergency replacement captain where available. No-shows are rare; every reported incident is investigated and may result in captain removal from the platform.
